Design/Development Engineer
Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - near Toronto Pearson International Airport

The company designs and manufactures a full range of exhaust after-treatment emission control products for OE and aftermarket diesel, LPG, gasoline and natural gas engines. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and development activities related to engine exhaust emission control products and system components
- Complete detailed design drawings and specifications of products, tools, parts, related components and system structures
- Support the design/product/process verification requirements of regulatory agencies
- Define quality levels, investigate failure causes, and analyze drawings, specifications and other documents to determine quality requirements
- Maintain the product design database including tools and fixtures
- Apply engineering principles to product design and use engineering software and equipment to produce all designs
- Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to develop products that can be produced by existing manufacturing facilities and methods
- Consult and interact with sales engineers and client engineers in order to clarify or resolve problems
- Compile and analyze test data to determine if modifications or adjustments are required to meet or exceed design specifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum five years professional experience
- Intermediate to advanced SolidWorks skills working with large assemblies
- Broad knowledge of engineering principles, practices and procedures
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision but also function as a team player when required
- Familiarity with modern engineering science (lean manufacturing concepts, stress analysis, statistical process analysis) theories to continuously improve efficiency of manufacturing processes
- Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
- Solid time management, organizational and planning skills
- Strong Microsoft Office software abilities
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Solid multitasking skills and the ability to meet demanding schedules
Additional Preferred Competencies:
- Experience with COSMOSFloWorks or other CFD software
- Good understanding of internal combustion engine principles of operation
- Exposure to and knowledge of exhaust emission control product manufacturing
- Exposure to and knowledge of tool and die design
- Exposure to and knowledge of process and manufacturing automation
