Design/Development Engineer
Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - near Toronto Pearson International Airport
Nett Technologies Inc., a leading manufacturer of engine emission control systems has an immediate opening for a Design/Development Engineer. The company designs and manufactures a full range of exhaust after-treatment emission control products for OE and aftermarket diesel, LPG, gasoline and natural gas engines.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop engine exhaust emission control products from concept through to production
- Complete detailed design drawings and specifications of manufactured and purchased components
- Interact with manufacturing personnel to ensure design compliance
- Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to develop products that can be produced by existing manufacturing facilities and methods
Qualifications & Experience:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Min 3 years professional experience in a design/manufacturing environment
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision but also function as a team player when required
- Familiarity with modern engineering principles (manufacturability of components, cost analysis, stress analysis) to continuously improve efficiency of manufacturing processes
- Good English communication skills, both oral and written
- Solid multitasking skills and the ability to meet demanding schedules
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience
Additional Preferred Competencies:
- Experience with SolidWorks Flow Simulation or other CFD software
- Good understanding of internal combustion engine principles of operation
- Good understanding of fluid dynamics and/or sound attenuation principles
- Exposure to and knowledge of exhaust emission control product manufacturing
- Exposure to and knowledge of tool and die design
- Exposure to and knowledge of process and manufacturing automation
